Sehat Sawal was established on the idea that patient education is a vital component in the prevention of diseases and in expanding the reach of healthcare across Pakistan. We aim to provide physicians and patients across Pakistan with the resources required to meet such needs through our various projects. A list of current and future Sehat Sawal projects can be found below:
Digital and Physical Resources:
Sehat Sawal’s patient resources aim to provide patients with comprehensive information regarding conditions, procedures, and medications through various media including digital downloads, brochures, and videos.
Sehat Sawal’s physician resources aim to provide physicians with comprehensive educational aids like brochures, digital downloads, and videos that can be utilized to improve the health and well-being of patients. Sehat Sawal is committed to making better health accessible and offers these resources free of cost to physicians.
Badge Buddies:
Badge Buddies are badge cards similar to identification cards, that attach to a healthcare worker’s badge reel. Sehat Sawal’s Badge Buddies aims to provide healthcare workers with a quick reference sheet when interacting with patients with whom they might have a language barrier. Communication is an essential part of healthcare, and barriers like language can often hinder proper care, leading to shortcomings. Sehat Sawal’s Badge Buddies will initially be available in 4 languages: English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Pashto. Badge Buddies will be available premade or on a custom order, depending on the phrases and words providers need.
Sehat Jawab Blog:
The Sehat Jawab Blog aims to provide patients with the latest in healthcare news through physician-penned articles, current research findings, and advice on healthy living.
Baby Boxes:
Baby Boxes are a concept initially developed and implemented in hospitals by the Finnish Government in the early 1930s for parents and their newborn babies to provide them with necessities like clothing, bedding, bottles, and pacifiers. This initiative has significantly reduced Finland’s infant mortality rate and has provided underprivileged families with the basic resources needed to care for an infant. Infant mortality and poverty are highly prevalent issues in Pakistan, and Sehat Sawal’s Baby Boxes hope to aid and reduce such statistics. We hope to eventually be able to provide our Baby Boxes to all newborns born in poverty-stricken regions in Pakistan free of cost. Our Baby Boxes will include necessities like clothing, formula, water, pacifiers, diapers, family planning resources, resources explaining safe sleep practices, bibs, toys, books, and essentials like a hooded bath towel, nail scissors, hairbrush, toothbrush, bath thermometer, nappy cream, and a washcloth.
Additionally, the box itself can double as a bassinet/crib for infants up to 9 months of age, helping to prevent common causes of infant mortality related to sleeping practices, like SIDS and suffocation; and provide parents with a place for their infant to sleep. Along with the box, we will provide a mattress, mattress cover, undersheet, duvet cover, blanket, and sleeping bag/quilt.
